Day 3- San Antonio

Day 3: San Antonio, the River Walk and the Alamo

Welcome to the Last Bashful blog— we know, you're just as sad as we are, we know you'll miss us :( but be out on the look out for our friends, the Grumpys, taking over tomorrow! Today included lots of driving, going to the largest Buc-ees that exists, and seeing San Antonio with it's river walk and the Alamo!

Today we woke up at 5:00 A.M at the "Taj Mahal", aka the Fontainebleau Park in Louisiana and left our site at 5:45 A.M.

Morning at the Gas Station
This morning we had pop-tarts, grain bars, and juice boxes for breakfast and we got to see a very vivid double rainbow as well!

Shopping at Buc-ees
At Buc-ees we all explored and got items like T-shirts that said “Don’t mess with Texas”, the boys bought beaver onesies, the girls got anklets, and LOTS of Buc-ees specialized food and snacks.

Exploring the Alamo
We stopped in San Antonio and saw the Alamo, the river walk, and explored the city around the riverwalk and the Alamo. The Alamo is a  historical building where a battle of the American Mexican war was, and the Riverwalk was an American Venice, and we were able to escape the heat down there. It was like a completely different world compared to the one up top.

Lots of naps and laughs
On the vans/bus we had a ton of deep conversations to get to know everyone, we listened to a lot of music, made a lot of friendship bracelets, and had interviews about our lives from a 3000 question book. We also shared our relationship status. Also, lots of sleeping photos is a must!

Research Presentations
Lily, Kennedy, Jake, presented and Maddie also did a Beyonce inspired rap.

Exploring San Antonio
The first big stop was at Buc-ees where we spent time looking through apparel and the food, and secondly in San Antonio at the Alamo and the Riverwalk giving us time to get ice cream and shop around. In the beginning of the Riverwalk the counselors tricked us into taking our shoes off saying there was endangered wildlife! We also walked around stopping to get ice cream, gelato, coffee, gifts, t-shirts, and some lemonade to cool down.

We took a large group photo in front of the Alamo, but always numerous ones at Buc-ees.

For lunch the cooks made everyone Turkey and Ham sandwiches with snacks. But most of us ate at Buc-ees.

For dinner we got pizza rolls made of tortillas, marinara, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni with popcorn on the side.

Lots of Fun at Our Campsite
Today we drove through Louisiana and half of Texas stopping at Kerrville. We set up camp at Kerriville-Scheriner park, a large open grassy area where we are all camping together.

We are so SAD! This is the last blog from the Bashfuls, we are headed to the being dishwashers, yes, we are going to wash dishes! It's been real, see you guys through the pictures!
