Day 15-SLC and Bear Lake

Day 15: Salt Lake City and Bear Lake

Happy Day from the Sneezys! A wide awakening greeted us as Dallas played epic Mormon parodies. We quickly packed up and hopped on the bus, enjoying a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and green grapes (YUM!).

After a short ride we were greeted at Temple Square, Salt Lake City by some of  the Mormon Sisters. We met Sisters from Brazil, Sudan, Peru, South Africa and many other countries. They gave us a thorough tour of the Mormon Tabernacle, construction of the Temple and the Conference Center. During this tour they gave us an in depth explanation of their faith, practices, and belief systems. At the end of the tour the sisters gifted some of us copies of The Book of Mormon as a souveneir.

After a short walk from the Tabernacle we arrived at the “biggest” mall in Utah!! (we don’t actually know if its the biggest, that’s just what we’ve been told.) Almost every TWB member rushed to the Apple store to call home and tell their parents about their OUTRAGEOUS spending problem. The next hot spot was the food court where everyone jumped in line at Chick-Fil-A. The rest of our time was spent shopping around (some people spent way to much…)

After our time at the mall we boarded back onto the vehicles and bolted to our favorite stop… Walmart!! At Walmart, the cooks invested in a cheap and easy meal of tacos! Watch out for glitter! We arrived at Bear Lake after an hour long drive in our vehicles welcomed by clear water and tourists. As people set up their sleeping bags and tarps, anticipation lingered in the air for the dusk swim planned ahead followed by a joyous sing along. Remember quantity over quality!

Dinner & competition (4-6 sentences)
For dinner we enjoyed one of our favorite meals so far... walking tacos!! Our tacos were accompanied with queso, corn, beans, beef and salsa, soooo good, tasted like it came straight from a restaurant. In order to determine the order of who gets to eat, the Dopeys hosted a game of "head, shoulders, knees, and toes Grab Cup” where Phin from the Happys won the coveted prize (shoutout to Brooke for being runner up!) After we gobbled up our meal we rushed to the bathrooms to change into our swim suites for a surprise contest! In a long battle between each dwarf group, the Sleepys won with their team representatives: Tobi & Jack!

Swimming & sing-a-long (3-5 sentences)
On the brink of being able to jump in, Dallas had us pose for a group photo, where all the other counselors secretly had water balloons ready to fire. After the ambush, we all rushed into the water and had a nice refreshing swim as the sun was going down. After tons of cute pictures, most of us changed into warmer clothes and gathered on the beach for a singalong! We sung our classic tunes and enjoyed a colorful sunset that felt like a gift from nature.

Hope you enjoyed the Sneezy’s special edition of the blog… we tried! Signing off, Morgan, Parker, Jackson, Addy, EK, Finn, Madyson, Lauren, Ruby, Corinna, Charlotte, Evan, Zack, and Caroline!
